Cyclonic destoner

• a destoning tank
• a water recirculating unit
• a dewaterer
• a stone discharge device

The heart of the machine is a cone shaped tank with tangential top discharge channel and central vertical rotating paddle wheel. The efficiency of stone separation is achieved thanks to the combination of:
• the shape of the tank
• the cyclonic effect created by the rotating paddle wheel
• a vertical ascending water current.

The water circulation :
• ascending flow in the tank
• overflowing of water and product through the discharge channel
• is generated by a low speed and a pump driven by electric motor.

The suction of the pump is connected to a collecting tank situated under the dewaterer to evacuate floating waste by constant overflowing and to flush out decanted heavy waste (soil) periodically.

Description

Dewaterer
According to the volume and type of product to handle, several options are offered :
• Vibrating dewaterer + rinser : (see VIBRATING CONVEYOR section)
• Static dewaterer : it consists of an inclined channel with a grid bottom. Suitable for big products (potatoes – big carrots – turnips – beetroots…)
• Static dewaterer + water cleaner : The same as before but with a rotating perforated drum to filter the water before it falls down into the collecting tank suitable for the same products as above and when the machine is used as a prewasher with dirty product.

Stone discharge devices
According the quantity of stones to evacuate two types of devices are offered :
Manual device : For small quantities of stones (50 to 100 Kg. per hour) a simple tank is bolted under the destoning main tank to collect the stones.

A manual flushing has to be done periodically.
Automatic device : For bigger quantities a rubber belt elevator is used. (see CONVEYING SYSTEM section)

Production
• Carrots – turnips – beetroots – potatoes 10 to 12 Tons per hour
• Green beans   8 to 10 Tons per hour
• Salsifies   6 to   8 Tons per hour
